Donation of Two MT-610 Fetal Monitors to Maternal and Child Health Facilities in Angola
Support for maternal and child health through JICA’s ODA
Toitu Co., Ltd. has donated two MT-610 fetal monitors to maternal and child health facilities in the Republic of Angola through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, under the project “Quality Improvement of Maternal Care in Primary Health Care Facilities.”
One MT-610 unit was installed at Olga Chaves Municipal Hospital in Huila Province and the other at Bailundo Maternal and Child Health Center in Huambo Province. The MT-610 enables real-time monitoring of fetal heart rate and uterine contractions, helping clinicians detect complications during labor at an early stage and take prompt action to support a safe delivery for both mother and baby. The devices have been in full use since installation, and local medical staff report that they are now able to manage pregnant women with greater confidence.
Through JICA’s ODA schemes and collaboration with local health authorities, Toitu will continue to support the improvement of maternal and newborn care in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
